Founded in 1951, St. Anne Catholic Hospital began as a modest clinic established by the Gonja Development Corporation to serve its staff and their families. When the corporation dissolved in 1954, the facility was entrusted to the Catholic Church, marking the beginning of its faith-based healthcare mission and is offering an international student Internship Africa.
In 1955, the Sisters of St. Anne arrived and laid a strong foundation for compassionate service, managing the hospital until 1974. Leadership then transitioned to the Sisters of Mary Immaculate (SMI) and the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM). From 1978 to 1999, the hospital was under the dedicated care of the Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit.
The Sisters of Mary Immaculate resumed management thereafter, continuing their service until 2021, when stewardship of the hospital was formally transferred to the Catholic Diocese of Damongo—ensuring the continuation of its long-standing commitment to quality healthcare rooted in service and faith.

Journey
